Workshops

As an acting teacher, I have developed specific methods over time, based on the experience I have gained as an actor and director. For me, every rehearsal process is a laboratory for exploring ways to develop the actor’s work. The courses and workshops I teach dive deeply into the aspects I explore in my work: different approaches to character work, performing classical text, and expanding the actor’s ways of expression through storytelling and movement techniques.

Acting Shakespeare

What is so unique about Shakespeare? What does it take for an actor to portray a Shakespearean character? Shakespeare stretches an actor’s boundaries, challenging us intellectually, physically and emotionally. In this workshop we will explore Shakespeare’s world and style of writing. We will prepare our body and voice for the challenge, and acquire tools to find the hints for actors that are hidden in Shakespeare’s text, using them to create the shape, depth, and rhythm of our character.

Laban
and building a character

In this workshop we will explore in depth different methods of building a character, with a special focus on the work of Rudolf Laban. We will stimulate our imagination and widen our range of expression on our journey to portray more interesting characters, characters who can be far from our own personality.

Storytelling

Acting in a post-dramatic stage creation, or even in an adaptation of a novel, demands different techniques from an actor than acting in a realistic drama.
In this workshop we will explore different aspects of the storytelling style. We will look for ways to find the action in a non-dramatic text, practice our flexibility of going in and out of characters and situations, deepen our relationship with the audience, and open a rainbow of possibilities only accessible through this style of acting.
